Drink review – Stiegl Grapefruit Radler is a low alcoholic refreshing drink bursting full of flavours from the malty beer through to the various fruit juices. Overall a great drink to crack open in summer.

I do enjoy drinking radler’s, they can be extreme first-quenching, especially on a hot day so I was excited to find the low-alcohol grapefruit radler by Stiegl. I reviewed Kaiserdom’s lemon radler a while back and enjoyed it so had high expectations for this one.

Stiegl is arguably the oldest brewery I’ve featured on MyDryBar going back to 1492. It is based in Salzburg, Austria and is now the country’s largest private brewery. As you can expect they have quite a comprehensive collection of beers including low and no-alcohol beers to choose from.

If you are unsure what a radler is it’s a drink generally made up of 50% blond lager and a form of fruit juice making it a refreshing and accessible drink. In the case of Stiegl’s grapefruit radler the ingredients are 40 % Stiegl-Goldbräu beer and 60 % fruit soda (lemon, grapefruit, orange).

So, the question is, is Stiegl’s grapefruit radler one to accompany a summer BBQ? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.

Is Stiegl Grapefruit Radler Any Good?

Taste

Thankfully this is a really tasty low-alcohol radler. There are sweet and sour flavours abound thanks to the malts from the beer and its all cut through by the inclusion of the citrus fruit juices. Essentially this is one drink that will bring a lot of happiness to a parched mouth.

Aroma & Appearance

When you open a can of Stiegl’s grapefruit radler you are immediately hit by a wave of punchy citrus aromas (especially grapefruit). In the glass this drink has a light yellow’ish tinge with a short frothy head.
